Stephen Reid is one of the most experienced Councillors in Basingstoke. He is a Cabinet Member at Hampshire County Council, holding the vitally important finance and performance portfolio. He is committed to reducing the County's climate change footprint and has introduced a policy to make all the pool cars at Hampshire electric instead of diesel. He drives an electric car himself.
A past Leader of Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council, Stephen's achievements include building the Anvil and the Leisure Park, and starting festival Place - making Basingstoke a regional centre for arts, leisure and shopping.
Stephen has lived in Basingstoke all his life. He was educated at the local state schools from where he gained a place at Cambridge University and read Economics. He is married and has four grown-up children.
