Basingstoke MP Maria Miller Visited Hindson House in Winklebury which provides respite care for Adults with learning and physical disabilities. Hindson House is the first purpose-built adult respite building constructed by Hampshire County Council.
Basingstoke’s MP, Maria Miller called on the Solicitor General to ensure that members of the public have better understanding of the law, during a debate on “Public Legal Education” secured by a neighbouring constituency MP, Ranil Jayawardena.
Basingstoke MP Maria Miller was delighted to join students and staff at BCOT, together with employers, to mark the first year of BCOT’s Supported Internships. The Supported Internship is a programme designed to help young people with special educational needs get into the workplace.
Maria said: “It was good to see how motivated and engaged the children were both in the school and extra-curricular activities. The questions from the council were far ranging and I am constantly encouraged to see how keen such young pupils in Basingstoke are to contribute to both their school and the wider community.”
Maria met Mrs Larissa James, Head Teacher for a catch up on the latest developments at the school, including the recent expansion of the school to accommodate the increasing number of infant school children from new local housing development.
