MARIA MILLER, MP SAYS NO MORE DELAY TO NEW ROOKSDOWN GP SURGERY

Maria said: “Residents are right to be angry at the delay in starting work on a permanent GP surgery. Rooksdown residents have endured a catalogue of delays to essential local services being established as a result of poor planning when the main estate was started more than 10 years ago. Maria said: “We are very fortunate to have St Michael’s Hospice here in Basingstoke. Whenever I visit the Hospice, there is always something new to see or hear about.”

Maria attended the launch of Global Vocational skills (GVS) training at Basingstoke College of Technology. The new technology is used in conjunction with traditional teaching methods aimed at ensuring that pupils excel in their vocational training courses.

Maria said "We have seen a significant increase in the number of incidents of online abuse and trolling. The complex set of existing legislation makes it difficult for the police to take meaningful action when victims report online abuse.

MARIA MILLER, MP CELEBRATES INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY

Maria Miller hosted students at Westminster as part of International Women’s Day to promote greater equality for women in politics and the wider world. Maria met with Aheng Negargar from Queen Mary’s College, Basingstoke, who was able to watch during a session of the Women and Equalities Select Committee, visit Downing Street, shadow Maria and watch the International Women’s Day debate in Parliament.
