Maria Miller has welcomed the announcement that Hampshire police force will receive £549,991 in extra funding as part of the Government’s £25 million Safer Streets Fund – delivering on a key Conservative manifesto commitment.
Basingstoke MP Maria Miller met with Basingstoke’s new District Commander Chief Inspector Karen McManus. Chief Inspector McManus was previously the Tactical Firearms Lead for Hampshire and Thames Valley.
Maria and the new District Commander discussed a range of local policing issues.
Maria Miller has welcomed the announcement that Basingstoke and Deane council will receive a further £257,207 from the Government to help pay for its response to coronavirus, as part of a £500 million package of additional support to councils in England.
Rt Revd David Williams, Bishop of Basingstoke spoke in support of the Inquiry launched by Basingstoke MP Maria Miller. The Inquiry seeks to gather the voices of a diverse cross section of individuals from Black Asian Minority Ethnic (BAME) background who live in the Basingstoke constituency.
