The Post Office at Chineham Shopping Centre, is to be completely refurbished and a further Post Office serving point will be provided for use at the retail counter, providing longer opening times, including a Sunday service. In order to carry out the refurbishment, the Post Office will be closed for one week, from Monday 16 September.

Maria said: “The Post Office at Chineham provides a much valued service to the local community and it is good news that the Post Office has decided to upgrade the branch, with modernisation of the facilities and longer opening hours.”

Maria added: “It has been disappointing to see the closure of several local Post Offices in Basingstoke over the years. Chineham Post Office has always been very busy, and all the more so since the Old Basing Post Office closed in 2008. So I welcome this investment and hope that it will help to reduce waiting times at Chineham.”
