As part of her programme of regular visits to Basingstoke businesses, local MP Maria Miller recently called in at Computer 2000, a Chineham based IT distribution company.
Maria met Marketing Director Andy Dow, who gave her an overview of the company’s business and its key issues. The focus of Maria’s visit was to hear about the collaboration between Computer 2000 and Basingstoke College of Technology (BCOT), in terms of training for the company’s customer service staff. The BCOT training, which is delivered on site and on line, leads to NVQ qualifications.
Maria also had the opportunity to meet some of the staff who are doing the training and hear about their experiences.
Maria said: “It is good to catch up with local businesses and hear their news. I was interested to hear how BCOT is delivering bespoke training suited exactly to the company’s requirements. This is exactly the type of training support that the Government would want to encourage.”
