Basingstoke MP Maria Miller has welcomed the announcement from the Government that Basingstoke College of Technology will receive £571,894 in funding to improve its buildings and infrastructure.
Maria said, ‘I am pleased that Basingstoke College of Technology has received additional funding, which will allow students to continue to receive high-quality education and training. There is nothing more important than the education young people receive.’
Basingstoke College of Technology was one of more than 180 further education colleges to receive a share of £200 million to upgrade buildings and estates.
The funding marks the latest step in the government’s drive to overhaul further education, deliver the skilled workforce that employers and the economy need, and level up skills and opportunities for more people across the country.
Basingstoke College of Technology’s Principal Anthony Bravo also welcomed the additional funding, which he confirmed will be put towards upgrading IT infrastructure at the college.
