Maria Miller, MP for Basingstoke, visited a local company based in Chineham, which is celebrating a major export contract. Postjet Systems Ltd was first established in 2005 and designs and manufactures inkjet systems for use in worldwide postal authorities. Their systems are capable of high speed printing onto mail travelling at speeds of up to 5 metres per second. They have recently won a highly competitive multi-million pound tender to supply printers to the US Postal Service, for readdressing envelopes where people or businesses have moved.
Maria met Directors of the company at their Chineham base, including Adrian Moss, Chairman, and David Daniels and Ken Moss, and also met other members of staff. They told her about how the company was formed, explained the systems that they design and manufacture, and outlined their extensive range of contracts, both in the UK and worldwide.
Maria said: “The entrepreneurial vision at Postjet Systems has enabled this company to thrive. It is a tremendous achievement to have secured a major export contract to the United States.”
Maria added: “All too often people say that there is no manufacturing going on in Britain. This business, like others across the Basingstoke area, proves that this could not be further from the truth. There is a great deal of innovative manufacturing which finds its home in Basingstoke, and it is important that we should celebrate their achievements.”
