The Programme ran from January to April this year and was delivered by Hampshire Fire and Rescue, who have supported over 880 young people in Hampshire through this programme over the last 10 years.
The Prince’s Trust Team Programme is a 12 week course for 16-25 year olds, focussing mainly on those who are leaving care, young offenders, educational under-achievers and the long term unemployed. It offers work experience, qualifications, practical skills and community projects and more than 70% of those who take part in the Team Programme go on to full employment, training or education.
The twelve young people from Basingstoke who had successfully completed the Team Programme gave a presentation about their experiences of the Programme and what they were now planning for the future.
Maria said: “I was privileged to be invited to the Basingstoke Team 16 celebration. The young people participating in it have shown great leadership and motivation and a willingness to work hard. I wish them all much success for the future.”
She added: “I would particularly like to thank Hampshire Fire and Rescue for the fantastic work that they do to deliver the Prince’s Trust Team Programmes. Their continuing support for the Prince’s Trust demonstrates the tremendous contribution they make to the wider community and their commitment to engaging with young people.”
