Local MP Maria Miller wants Basingstoke constituents to be aware of the consultation currently being carried out by Scottish and Southern Energy Power Distribution (SSEPD) following the disruption to power supplies as a result of the 23/24 December storms. They are asking for the views of customers and other parties on what could be done to make the electricity network more resilient and to help customers when a power cut occurs.
Maria said: “I know that engineers from SSEPD worked hard to restore people’s power supplies as quickly as they could over the festive period, but unfortunately some people were without power until 28 December. I would urge customers to look at the consultation and respond with their views.”
The consultation runs until 28 March 2014 and can be found on the SSEPD website at www.ssepd.co.uk/HaveYourSay/December2013StormConsultation/
