Following the recent installation of new recycling banks for hard plastics at a number of Basingstoke locations, local MP Maria Miller had asked for consideration to be given to further banks to be installed at Chineham and Kempshott, convenient locations for shoppers using two of the largest supermarkets in the area.
Maria has welcomed the news that a new recycling bank for hard plastics has now been installed by the Borough Council at Chineham Centre, and that Sainsbury’s has installed its own mixed plastics recycling bank at Kempshott.
Maria said: “These additional recycling banks at busy shopping centres will make it easier for more residents to recycle more of their waste, including fruit and vegetable punnets, food and drink cartons, and margarine, butter and ice cream tubs. It is always more convenient if we can do our recycling at the same time as going to the shops.”
