As part of a series of meetings with local businesses and other organisations to discuss the implications of Brexit, Maria Miller recently called in at Queen Mary College and BCOT to hear the views of the students.
Maria said: “It was a lively discussion with the QMC politics students, who raised a really wide range of issues. Many of the students were concerned about being able to study, work and travel within Europe, while others talked about the importance of maintaining high environmental standards, and ensuring that the UK continued to play its part on the world stage.”
Maria continued: “The BCOT students raised some interesting issues, and it was clear that many of them were concerned about the impact of Brexit on the economy, and how that would affect their ability to set up their own businesses. Many were also concerned about their continuing ability to be able to live and work in other countries, and we need to ensure that this is recognised.
