MARIA MILLER MP VISITS 3rd KEMPSHOTT BROWNIES TO MARK PARLIAMENT WEEK
Maria Miller MP visited 3rd Kempshott Brownies in the run up to Parliament week which runs from 2nd to the 8th of November. Maria spoke about life as an MP and answered questions from the Brownies. She also asked the Brownies about their own experiences in standing for their school councils.
Maria commented; “ I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to Kempshott Brownies and was incredibly impressed with their knowledge and wide ranging questions. To give a few examples, I was asked what I had done to make our earth a better place, whether I had met the Queen and whether food was provided during meetings. The group were also very interested in what could be done to improve the world in which they live; Equal Pay, reducing homelessness and looking after the environment were just some of the issues raised. Parliament week is an annual festival that engages people from across the UK with their UK Parliament, explores what it means to them and empowers them to get involved. Organisations can sign up to run activities across the UK to explore how the UK Parliament is relevant to them and their community and empower people to have their say.
