Maria Miller recently called in at the Basingstoke office of Aecom, to see their recently refurbished premises and meet some staff. Maria was welcomed by Aecom’s Chief Executive for UK and Ireland, Patrick Flaherty.

Aecom is a multinational engineering company which provides design, consulting, construction and management services to a wide range of clients in more than 150 countries around the world. It acquired URS Corporation in 2014 and the Basingstoke office is based in Scott House at Alencon Link.

Maria said: “I was pleased to have the opportunity to visit Aecom and meet members of the Basingstoke office working on many different projects. As a local employer with some 360 staff – and due to increase to 450, I was encouraged to hear about their commitment to apprenticeships across a range of disciplines, many of which are highly technical. I was also very interested in their policy of ensuring that staff are able to contribute two days a year to the local community and good causes.”
