Maria recently visited Cranbourne Business and Enterprise College as part of her programme of visits to Basingstoke schools.
She met the new Head Teacher Jane Aplin for an update on a range of issues. She also had a meeting with members of the School Council, who asked her a number of questions, including about her work as MP for Basingstoke. Maria also took the opportunity to ask them what improvements they would like to see to make Basingstoke an even better place to live.
Maria said: “I had a great meeting with the School Council, and was very interested in their thoughts about how to improve Basingstoke. Like many young people, they wanted to find ways to make the town more environmentally friendly, including with greener public transport and less litter. They also wanted to make sure that the town’s facilities were accessible for elderly people.”
