Maria visited Merton Junior School and met with the School Council, staff and pupils. After the meeting with the School Council, Maria discussed developments at the school with Head teacher Mrs Palmer followed by a tour of the school.

Maria commented: “It was very encouraging to see how engaged the children were in all their subjects and activities. Mrs Palmer and her team have a real commitment to ensuring that pupils benefit from all aspects of the curriculum. My meeting with the council was excellent and our discussion covered a wide range of subjects including littering, Housing and Wildlife, healthy lifestyles and cycling to school."
