Maria Miller MP met with the Hampshire Cultural Trust (HCT) to discuss the opening of Museums, Galleries and Arts Centres across Hampshire. HCT was established as an independent charity in 2014 and manages and supports 26 venues across Hampshire. The Trust runs the Willis Museum, Basing House and Milestones in Basingstoke.
Maria commented; “ It was great to be able to meet CEO Paul Sapwell , Chair Alan Lovell and Rebekah Jeffery Head of Culture Hubs, to hear about their exciting projects . I am looking forward to the opening of the New Teddy Bear Exhibition at Milestones and plans for the new pier.”
“It was really good to hear how the Trust benefited from the Culture Recovery fund which meant that when Covid restrictions allowed, they could open quickly in a covid secure way.”
The Cultural Trust also runs Social Impact Programmes which include people with suffering from Dementia and Mental Health issues alongside prison programmes. The Trust also works with Pupil Referral Units.
Maria added; “It is clear to see that the Trust takes its role as a charity seriously with a wide range of projects and resources catering for different needs. I look forward to hearing more about the Trust’s other upcoming projects.”
