Basingstoke MP Maria Miller recently visited Mill Field Conservation Group in Old Basing. The site, which was once agricultural land, is now managed by volunteers from the Mill Field Conservation Group.
Maria met Anne Francis, Chair of the Conservation Group and Jim Andrews, the Group’s wildlife expert and was taken round the site, to see the various species of flora and fauna and hear about the conservation work that the volunteers have been carrying out.
Maria said: “The volunteers have clearly worked really hard over the years and have created a lovely space for the whole community to enjoy. It was great to see the conservation work they have been doing, and really important that it has been designated as a Local Nature Reserve.”
