Basingstoke MP Maria Miller visited Scope’s Roman House during their open day on Friday 4 March. Roman House, on Winklebury Way, is a residential home supporting a number of adults with cerebral palsy. Maria was shown round the unit by one of the residents, and met many of the staff, volunteers and service users.
Maria said: “I was very pleased to be asked to visit Roman House again, and was glad of the opportunity to meet and talk with many of the residents and those providing this important service.”
She added: “As Minister for Disabled People, as well as the local MP, it was also helpful for me to hear the views of service users about changes to the Disability Living Allowance that we are currently considering.”
