Maria was welcomed by Tony Reid (Chief Executive), Amanda Quincey (Principal) and Michael del Mar (Chair of Governors) and heard from them about the education, care and therapy that Treloar’s provides for young people with severe and complex disabilities. She also heard about the forthcoming co-location of the College and the School, following the re-development of the Holybourne campus.

 Maria was shown around the new buildings, and also visited the Trailblazer unit, which is the UK’s first mobile service that assesses the needs of disabled young people at mainstream and special schools.

 Maria said: “I was very pleased to visit the new Treloar campus and hear about the fantastic work Treloar’s is doing to help disabled young people reach their potential.”

 Maria added: “I was also really interested to hear about the work placements that the students undertake, the independent living skills programme and the contact between Treloar’s and the local community. All of this is so important in helping the young people to plan for the future.”
