Basingstoke MP Maria Miller Visited Hindson House in Winklebury which provides respite care for Adults with learning and physical disabilities. Hindson House is the first purpose-built adult respite building constructed by Hampshire County Council. The facility provides eight accessible en suite ground floor rooms, with a sensory room and bathing facilities and a specifically designed garden including areas for relaxation.
Maria met Sharon Grey who manages the Facility and Cllr Liz Fairhurst, Executive Member for Adult Social Care and Health for Hampshire County Council and Graham Allen, Director of Adults’ Health and Care.
Maria Commented; “ It was wonderful to visit Hindson House and see the excellent respite facilities offered. Being able to access the right support is extremely important for people with disabilities and those who care for them and a break can make a vital difference. Hindson House offers tremendous support to those living with challenging and complex conditions. It was fitting to see the benefits of Hindson House first hand in National Autism week.”
