I moved to Popley in 2010 with my now wife and settled into the community and started our family; we've seen Popley and the surrounding area grow markedly and the character and size of the town change significantly which presents it's own benefits and challenges however the last year has put this into perspective.
The Pandemic has affected us all; some more than others and there are many obvious problems to address and others that are hidden that we will need to deal with as they arise.
My principle concern is that our children have collectively fallen behind in their education and we must support our schools as they race to catch up on missed learning. It's not all about their academic learning but their wider development and social skills young people that has also been put on hold.
The Pandemic has also meant so many charitable works have been suspended which has disproportionately affected the most vulnerable people in our community; it's vital we inject life back into the good works both social and environmental that galvanise our community.
Last but by no means least the economic shock has hit many hard and we need to repair the local economy and support business as they re-open into an uncertain World.
