“Basingstoke Foodbank held a Big Collection event on the first weekend of December and it was a pleasure to meet the volunteers, Jane Stubbs the new Chineham Tesco Community Champion and store manager Rosalie Chammas .
The Foodbank Volunteers managed to collect nearly 3000 KG of donations that filled 298 crates from Tesco shoppers during the Big Collection Event for the Foodbank’s Christmas Hamper Project.
Shoppers were given a shopping list of items for the Christmas Hamper Project including Christmas Cake, Yule Long, Sponge Puddings, Christmas Crackers, Seasonal Stuffing and Tinned Meats.
I would like to thank all of those involved in running and supporting the community hubs and Foodbank for their extraordinary efforts in ensuring that those in need of help have been supported. The Foodbank is only made possible because of the time and expertise given by those who run it and the generous donations of residents and businesses. Demonstrating what a strong and resilient community we have here in Basingstoke.”
