Maria Miller MP addressed a breakfast meeting of the Hampshire Chamber of Commerce in Basingstoke.
In her speech, Maria highlighted the importance of increasing productivity in terms of creating a stronger economy and raising living standards. She emphasized the importance of investing in Basingstoke’s roads and infrastructure as a way of boosting productivity. She also spoke about the importance of improving education, training and skills in the work force.
The Q and A session afterwards covered a wide range of topics including increasing air and rail capacity. Maria commented “It is wonderful to meet with so many diverse local businesses who play a key role in creating an environment which not only provides jobs but creates such a wealth of products and services in the area. Basingstoke is a town in which businesses can thrive.”
