Maria Miller MP visited the Barratt Homes Chapel Gate development in Basingstoke to meet the construction and sales team completing the site, and to see the health and safety measures put in place both within the construction site, and also within the sales and marketing suite. The visit concluded with a tour of the site, including the recently refurbished ‘The White Building’, which is located on the former site of the historic Eli Lilly factory.
Maria Commented; “Chapel Gate is one of the largest brown field developments in the south east, providing 600 new homes. The sales and construction teams have worked hard to make sure that the site could be safely reopened for house purchasers and construction workers. The safety of all workers has to remain a top priority during this pandemic.
“Chapel Gate is home to The White Building and is a fantastic site that honours the history of the iconic Eli Lilly Factory with affordable housing an integral part of the plans approved by Basingstoke Council, including first time buyers in Basingstoke, and for schemes helping NHS staff and Forces personnel to find their next home.”
