Local MP Maria Miller was pleased to join volunteers, supporters and guests of Basingstoke’s Pink Place for a coffee morning held at the Red Lion in the town centre recently. The Pink Place is a local charity that aims to provide support, advice and complementary, and hair and beauty treatments for anyone affected by breast cancer.
Maria met many of the guests who have benefited from the Pink Place’s services, as well as volunteers and other supporters.
Maria said: “The Pink Place is a fantastic idea, which gives women experiencing breast cancer the chance to get the support and advice they need, as well as some relaxation and pampering, which is so important to their wellbeing. We are really lucky to have this in Basingstoke, helping people to cope with the many challenges that having breast cancer can bring.”
Maria added: “It was great to meet some of the people who have been helped by the Pink Place, and to hear about their experiences. I was also really pleased to meet some of the fantastic volunteers who are providing such an amazing service.”
